How to crochet the Doubled Lattice Stitch

The Doubled Lattice Stitch is a fantastic stitch to use for a summer wrap or cover up! The stitch has a similar texture on both sides of your work. 

This tutorial shows how to crochet 3 rows. You can continue by repeating rows 2 and 3. For this Lattice Stitch, we will chain a multiple of 6 + 5 extra.

Stitches used in this tutorial: Chain stitch (ch), Treble crochet (tr) and Treble 2 together (tr2tog)

Chain a multiple of 6 + 5 extra.

Row 1
1 tr in the 7th ch from the hook, ch 4, 1 tr in the same ch as the tr we just made. *tr2tog; work the first ‘leg’ in the next chain, skip 4 chains, work the second ‘leg’ in the next chain, ch 4, 1 treble crochet in the same chain of the previous stitch.* Repeat between * and * to the last 4 ch. When you reached the end of the row; tr2tog, work the first ‘leg’ in the next ch and the second ‘leg’ in the last (4rd) ch. Turn.

Row 2
ch 6 (counts as 1 tr and 2 ch) 1 tr in the 1th stitch. tr2tog; work the first ‘leg’ in the next stitch, skip the chain-4 space, work the second ‘leg’ in the next stitch. *ch 4, 1 tr in the same stitch; work the first ‘leg’ in the next stitch, skip the chain-4 space, work the second ‘leg’ in the next stitch.* Repeat between * and * until you have reached the last stitch.* Work ch 2 and 1 tr in the same (last) stitch. Turn.

Row 3
ch 4, 1 treble crochet in the stitch after the chain-2 space. Ch 4, 1 tr in the same stitch. *Tr2tog; work the first ‘leg’ in the next stitch, skip the chain-4 space, work the second ‘leg’ in the next stitch. ch 4, 1 tr in the same stitch* Repeat between * and * until you have 1 stitch + 3 chains left. At the end of the row; tr2tog, work the first ‘leg’ in the next stitch, skip 2 ch, work the second ‘leg’ in the 3rd chain. Turn.

Keep repeating rows 2 and 3.
