I needed a solution to block my granny squares more evenly and saw this wooden blocking board online which was too expensive for me. That is why I decided to make one myself and make a video of my progress, so you can make one yourself too. It is really not that difficult to make a blocking board from a piece of scrap wood.
If you block your granny squares, they get a perfectly even squared shape. Which makes them look very professional.
How to use the blocking board
- Stretch out your granny square (not too much) and place the pins evenly (count the drilled holes to make sure it is square).
- Use a plant sprayer with water to make the granny square moist.
- You can stack multiple granny squares on the same pins.
- Wait until your granny square is dry. That’s it!
