1 – Insert your hook into the first stitch. Yarn over and pull the yarn through the stitch.

2 – You will have 2 loops on your hook now. Now insert your hook directly into the next stitch (left arrow).

3 – Yarn over and pull yarn through the stitch. You will have 3 loops on your hook.

4 – Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.

5 – You’ve just made your first single crochet decrease. The white arrows are the 2 stitches, which you turned into one stitch (black arrow)
