1 – You will start to crochet in the second chain from the hook. The first chain is the turning chain, that is why you will skip it.

2 – Insert the hook into the first stitch. Yarn over (wrap the yarn over the hook). Then pull the yarn through both loops on the hook.

3 – This is your first slip stitch.
