The slip knot is the foundation of crochet. There are several ways to tie a Slip Knot. I personally prefer the way I will show in this video. In the photo-tutorial, I will show you another option to tie a slip knot.

1 – wrap the yarn over the hook like in the image above. Make sure that the short end of the yarn is in the back.
2 – Wrap the yarn (which is attached to the skein) around the hook and pull the hook through the loop.
3 – Pull the yarn ends to tighten the loop. Make sure it isn’t too tight, the stitch should be able to slide smoothly over the hook. Congrats, you have made your first slip knot!
