Start with red
- Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
- Round 2: 2 sc in each sc (12)
- Round 3: 1 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat (18)
- Round 4: 2 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat (24)

- Round 6: 4 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat (36)

- Round 8: 42 sc (42)
- Round 9: 6 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, repeat (48)
- Round 10: 48 sc in front loops (48) (this will be the edge where you will fasten the stem)
- Round 11: 48 sc (48)
- Round 12: (1 sc, 1 hdc and 1 dc in next stitch, 1 hdc) repeat between ( ), sl.st. in first stitch, tie off.
Now you are going to make the white dots. Make sure you stay inside the edge with the dots, because that will be fastened to the stem, otherwise you will see white thread on the bottom and that would be a shame.
Start with a long thread and a needle. You make the dots by pricking the needle in the spot where you want the dot. Then you make a knot in your thread and push the knot as close as possible to the mushroom. Put your needle in the yarn next to the button and pull it through. If you put the thread through the same hole again, then you may pull the knot through it. The photos clarify a few things.
